Detain alt accounts on arrival

What the holding state does, how to read a detained account, and when to ban or release it.

What detention is

Detention is a holding state: the member is in your server, sees nothing, and waits until you decide. Everyone who passes gets the verified role and goes straight in.

Reading a detainee

Open your log channel. Each detainee shows which signals matched and which account they match — for example device signature matches @nova, with the date that account was banned.

Deciding

  • /ban when the device signature and one more signal agree with a member you removed.
  • Release when the only match is an IP address, or when the member shares a household with the banned account.
  • Ask a question only the original member would answer, in a ticket, before you decide a weak case either way.

Write the reason down

A one-line note on every ban is what makes the next match readable. Six months later, nobody can tell a real evader from a false positive without it.
