Verification
Set up verification in your server
Add Cursor, choose the role verified members get, and put a holding state between new joins and your channels.
What you need
- Manage Server on the Discord server you want to protect.
- A role for members who pass. Create one first if you don't already have it.
Steps
- Add Cursor to your server with the invite link and pick the server you want protected.
- Choose the role verified members receive. Anyone who hasn't verified stays in a holding state with no access to your channels.
- Open Server Settings → Roles and drag Cursor's role above the role members receive. Without this it can't hand the role out.
- Make sure the verification channel is readable by members in the holding state, or nobody can start.
- Walk through verification yourself with a second account before you announce it.
What members see
One Discord OAuth2 screen. They press Authorize, land back in the server, and the role is applied. There is no form, no captcha and nothing to type.
If someone can't get in
Check the role position first — it's the cause most of the time. Then confirm the member actually finished the OAuth2 screen rather than closing it. Members who already have the role don't need to verify again.
